About us
We, Ilse and Niek, are passionate about history. Since 2008 we have been running the Hooge Crater Museum full-time, which has grown into the best private WWI museum.
From that perspective we are also involved in the reconstruction and the rich history around Hooge and Bellewaerde. Every year since 2008, we have invested heavily in this place to make it what it is today.
Year after year we have been awarded the title of "Best private museum in Belgium", something we are very proud of. Every day we do the best we can to do justice to this title.
We are Louis and Arthur, the two children of Ilse and Niek. We are the Hooge Boys, and we live in the museum of our mom and dad.
